After adding your text to a page or post you’ll probably want to add some formatting – bold, italics etc. Directly above the text editor box you’ll notice the editor toolbar. Below is a full list of all icons on the toolbar with a description on functionality and implementation.
Formatting Buttons
Bold – to strongly emphasise a word or phrase – to use: highlight word & click icon or Press control key & B key
Italics – to emphasise a word or phrase – to use: highlight word & click icon or Press control key & I key
Strike through – to correct or update a word or phrase, used frequently in updating a post in case of development after publication – to use: highlight word & click icon
Unordered list – creates a bulleted list – to use: start new line, click icon; for next item hit return key; to exit from list hit return key twice.
Ordered list – creates a numbered list – to use: start new line, click icon; for next item hit return key; to exit from list hit return key twice.
Block Quote – for use with long quote from reference text or person – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Left Align – left align text (default) – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Centre Align – centre align text – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Right Align – right align text – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Link – create a hyperlink to a website or web page – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Break Link – remove hyperlink – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Read More Link – inserts a link to full post article (to be used with post articles only.) – to use: go to a new line, click icon.
Spell Checker – checks spelling of article – click icon, suspected misspellings are underlined in red, right click underlined word for spelling suggestions.
Full Screen Toggle – view editor in full screen; very handy for long article writing – to use: click icon
Show Full Editor Toolbar – view complete editor toolbar – to use: click icon
Format Bar – format text using paragraphs and headings – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Underline – underlines word; to be used sparingly in online articles as underlining on the web usually indicates a link – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Justify – justify text; to be used with caution as can look funny on the last line of a paragraph – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Text Colouring – colour text; to be used sparingly as interferes with site design sensiblity – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Paste in Text – paste text from another source – to use: click icon and paste copied text into the pop up window.
Paste in Text from Word Doc – paste text from a Microsoft Word Document – to use: click icon and paste copied text into the pop up window.
Remove Formatting – removes formatting from text and reverts back to plain text – to use: highlight text and click icon.
Insert Media – insert or immbed media e.g. movies, images, audio into page/post – to use: position cursor where you want to insert media and click icon
Insert Special Character – inserts special character e.g. €, ©, á etc. – to use: position cursor where you want to insert media and click icon
Indent – indents text – to use: place cursor at start of line and click icon
Remove Indent – removes indent – to use: place cursor at start of line and click icon
Undo – undoes most recent step; click as many times as necessary (up to 10 times) – to use: click icon
Redo – redoes steps just previously undone; click as many times as necessary (up to 10 times) – to use: click icon

Upload/Insert Image – add image to page/post – to use: position cursor where you want to insert media and click icon
Upload/Insert Video – add video e.g. YouTube to page/post – to use: position cursor where you want to insert media and click icon
Upload/Insert Audio – add audio e.g. MP3 or podcast to page/post – to use: position cursor where you want to insert media and click icon
